Creative Inspirations by Austrian Artist Norbert Brunner together with Art Curator Olga Daniele

“What is exciting for me is that I can adapt the content of these objects to the respective architecture and its history. It allows me to arrange them in groups in a multi-part installation, or spatially divided, so that they still communicate with each other in terms of content” says the artist about the art lighting interior project.

These objects are a combination of my photo mirror dot objects and a light object. It is important to me that they are ceiling objects, because it requires a different perspective and perception of the objects than when they are traditionally hung on the wall. It also provokes an interaction with the viewer, because they have to take an unfamiliar viewing position, and through the mirror become a part of the object.

The positioning on the ceiling also makes playing with the architecture more exciting, because the artist creates optical holes on the ceiling and thus visual freedom.

Another important point for Norbert Brunner is the connection of the object with a commodity that is important to us on a daily basis. A lamp that illuminates the room for us. This gives the otherwise elitist art object an everyday function without losing its intrinsic value.

For the hotel project, Norbert Brunner imagines a combination of light objects and mirror text objects.

The hotel area is a complex consisting of several structures on different topographical levels. It was ensured that the traditional construction on the island is retained, which also creates this cozy small town effect and gives the visitor a sense of arrival. For this reason, it is important to react visually empathetically to the architecture and the hotel concept. The combination of text objects and The Ceiling photo light objects allows Norbert to react flexibly conceptually in terms of content and visuals. Because just as all the fountains wind their way through the entire area like a bridge, this installation should ultimately have a connecting function both visually and in terms of content, which winds its way through the various structures and thus complements and connects. It should support the beauty of being different, no matter where we come from and where we go again.

Meeting the artist in his studio in Vienne, Austria was a great opportunity to get into details of the project that puts lighting and art together. The idea was born and had it’s continuation in order to satisfy the client’s request to personalize the ambiance with a design solution that boasts a subtile and natural touch.
